Is there anybody out there in this world besides myself and the Italians who have an interest in building and sailing an iacc120. I amfrom Bangor Maine USA. I am just finishing up an ac120 from the plans I got on vela rc. it will be modelled after the areva challenge from France. I've had a lot problems getting info ,can't read Italian. All I need is some info as to what type material their using on the sails.

Re: Anybody out there!
Usually for the sails, we use the Melinex 377 (50 microns) of Dupon Americana. For the material of the boats we turn from TD Model in Italy.

Hello rcrawford,
and wellcome on this forum.
The melinex color is white-transparent so some time it depends on the sun reflex it seems white or more transparent.
You can order it or the complite package of IACC sails to TDmodel (you can find the link on the homepage of the IACC120 Site).
regards

Re: Anybody out there!
Compliments to New Zealand for this victory! And thank you for you review-
A question: did Alinghi and ETNZ exchange their boats during the final? Because I heared NZl-92 was a little faster than NZL-82

il risultato si sapeva gia', new zealand e' forte .
Re: Anybody out there!
At the end of the challenger series alinghy flew a protest flag asking the race commitee to change the rules to allow boats to be swapped during the finals against Emerats .But when it came to the draw for the boats Alinghy won the right to use nzl 92 and droped there protest.Emerates was happy to stay in nzl 84 for the whole of the finals.and as history records although sailing the supposobly slower boat was able to win the finals 3-1 macca
